Catch four correct fish to win the level.
See the game in action
Every level has a fisherman (a frog, a seal… and the sound their name begins with). Fish swim past carrying pictures, and the child casts the hook at the ones starting with that same sound. Four right catches win the level.
How it is played
Four moments, from the map to the mechanic the child repeats each round.
1A river of levels. Each opens once the previous is won, and the stars show how much is left to master it.
2The level introduces the angler — a frog, a seal — and the sound their name starts with. That is the sound the child will look for.
3Fish swim past carrying pictures on their backs. The child casts the hook at those starting with the same sound.
4Four correct fish win the level. A wrong one costs a heart — there are three, and the game goes on.

What the child practises
Identifying the sound a word begins with, without seeing it written. The child hears the angler’s name, holds that sound, and compares it with each picture that passes — the basic gesture of all phonological awareness.
This is not a stand-alone game
Every answer feeds the child’s report, and the report decides the next activity.
