Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains how Leiamos handles personal data on this site, at leiamos.pt. The game apps published on the Android and iOS stores have their own section further down.
1. Who we are
Leiamos is the controller of the data described in this policy. Our registered address is R. 62, n.º 20, 4500-363 Espinho, Portugal.
For any privacy question, write to [email protected].
2. What data we collect on this site
That depends on you. Browsing leiamos.pt needs no account and, until you answer the measurement notice, stores nothing on your device. Specifically:
- There is no sign-up or login anywhere on this site.
- We only set measurement cookies if you allow them in the notice shown on your first visit. Decline, and none are set.
- The only measurement tool is Google Analytics 4, and it is loaded only after you allow it. Section 4 explains what it measures.
- There is no advertising, no tracking pixels and no social buttons that talk to other platforms.
- Every file — images, videos, fonts — is served from this site itself. If you do not allow measurement, your browser contacts no third-party domain at all to show these pages.
4. Audience measurement
If you accept in the notice shown on your first visit, the site loads Google Analytics 4 so we can see which pages get read and where the site fails the people looking for it. Until you answer, and if you decline, nothing from Google is loaded: your browser never contacts a Google server at all.
What is measured is page views, clicks on the buttons leading to the app stores, contact form submissions, the kind of device, and the approximate country. Nothing measured identifies you — we ask for no name or email address to browse, and Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address: it uses it to infer the country and discards it.
The legal basis is your consent, under article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR, and you may withdraw it at any time under «Measurement preferences» in the footer of every page. The data is processed by Google Ireland Limited acting as our processor and may be transferred to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. It is kept for fourteen months.
5. When you contact us
If you email or call us, we receive whatever you choose to share — typically your name, your contact details and the content of your message.
We use that only to reply and follow up. We do not sell it, do not pass it to third parties for marketing, and do not use it to send you anything you did not ask for. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering those who reach out to us.
6. Game apps
The Leiamos game apps published on Google Play and the App Store collect, store and share no personal data. No account is needed to play, there is no advertising, they integrate no analytics tools or third-party ad networks, and game progress is stored on the device only.
The games are made for children from age 2 as support for learning to read, and are designed to be used alongside an adult.
The apps are free. Should any of them gain a paid version in the future, payment is processed by the corresponding app store, which is responsible for its own billing data.

7. Links to other sites
Some pages link to sites that are not ours — the Portuguese Directorate-General for Education, Google Play and the App Store, for instance. Once you follow such a link, that site’s privacy policy applies, and we have no control over it.
8. Your rights
The General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to access your data, correct it, ask for it to be deleted, object to its processing and receive it in a portable format.
If you decline measurement, we will only hold data about you if you wrote or called — in which case writing to [email protected] is enough to exercise any of these rights. Measurement data does not identify you and we have no way to tie it back to you, so the way to stop it is to withdraw your consent under «Measurement preferences». You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — if we add a members’ area, say, or start using another tool — the date at the top of the page is updated and the change is described here before it takes effect.
