National studies indicate significant rates of school failure, with a direct impact on the subjects of Portuguese and mathematics. Even more worrying is the link between initial difficulties in reading and the spread of problems to other areas of knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even when there are overall improvements in the system, there is still a fringe of students who don’t keep up. There are many causes, but the consequences are clear: demotivation, retention and, sometimes, early school quitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
